ENDLESS BUMMER

In the classic 1966 Australian surf movie Endless Summer, narrator Bill Brown tells us that the keys to unlocking pathways to new frontiers of revelry and freedom are, simply, infinite cash and time.

Another year is here, and despite a nice little break at the start, that cash/time problem isn’t showing many signs of abating. It could be the right moment to accept that the frontier we’re approaching is more Endless Bummer than Summer. Still, in good faith, we might at least sing to the ending of the age of aquarius.

So, in the spirit of facing up to the inevitable lows and unexpected highs of another year, of dancing underneath the radar, and hopefully breaking even on the life/work balance, let’s try to party like it’s already 2015.
