Sara Mikolai

Sara Mikolai is a movement-based artist born in Berlin, to a Sri Lankan- Tamil mother and a German father. Trained in Bharatanatyam, her performative context was that of the Sri Lankan-Tamil diasporic community. She started to collaborate in various contexts of contemporary dance since 2007. Today, through a decolonizing and queer contextualization, she creates experimental situations, performances and rituals, in which she challenges normative boundaries and the relationship between viewer and performer.
