Unearthing or -un-ear-thing- is a new Liquid Architecture activity initiated by Debris Facility which seeks to mine the pedagogical resonances within LA programs and archive. Morphing the forms of workshops, masterclasses and reading groups, we will work collectively to uncover and examine materials for critical development. Guided by practitioners who dig into the rich contextual ground, we can collectively build infrastructures which support the growth of critical sound cultures.

The first intensive is lead by artist composer Raven Chacon, and will attune participants to practices of transcriptions, graphic scores, interpretation processes and performance. Drawing from a rich practice spanning noise, classical composition, opera, protest and decolonial sonic tactics, Raven will develop with participants an intimate performance work which works to sound the margins. Through an afternoon spent working with singular and multiple agencies, holding space for sonic and social harmony and dissonance, utilising the social and political power of sound and the changes it’s vitality brings.

Intensives will be limited to 20 participants. Email your EOI to info@liquidarchitecture.org.au with a brief outline of your practice and what commitments you will bring.
