Caitlin Franzmann: Tree-telling 2016

In Tree-telling, artist Caitlin Franzmann expands her ‘Magical Thinking’ project – an ongoing series of works that use hand-crafted divination cards as the trigger for experimental one-on-one encounters between the artist and individual participants. In this work Franzmann has created six new cards and six new sonic compositions, each corresponding to a tree in the Queen Victoria Gardens surrounding the MPavilion: Canary Island Palm, River Red Gum, London Plane, Algerian Oak, Jacaranda and Atlas Cedar. Chancing a card from the deck, visitors will join Caitlin on a shared walk from MPavilion to their chosen tree and back again, listening, talking and reflecting as they go. Caitlin will be at Mpavilion awaiting visitors at the following times:
