Rui Ho

The Berlin-based Chinese producer, composer RUI HO makes electronic music that bridges the modern club music landscape with traditional Chinese sounds. RUI HO infuses Chinese melodies of her Shanghai home into compositions and productions, while drawing inspiration from everything from Grime, Jersey and Reggaeton, to top 40 hits, to Japanese anime and gaming soundtracks. She combines the intensity of a wild club night with sweet melodies from her past and present.

A new development in her performing career, RUI HO’s live sets unlock a new level of her talent. Fusing complex, layered melodies with emotive ambient sounds and club-ready textures, the performance follows a loose narrative that brings entirely refreshing, eclectic expression to a club or live performance setting.

RUI HO belongs to a new generation of electronic musicians whose musical experiences stem largely from the internet: a perspective that speaks to up-and-coming club-going audiences. Her latest EP Becoming is an Eventful Situation on renound Brighton label Objects Limited was a follow up to the single Ru Meng Ling and remarkable debut EP Tales 戰記 on Shanghai imprint Genome 6.66 Mbp. RUI HO has been making buzzes with heavy and playful DJ sets throughout the European experimental underground scene as well as in China. They have performed at 3hd Festival (Berlin), Balance – Club / Culture Festival (Leipzig), Les Urbanise (Lausanne), CTM Music Festival (Berlin), Boiler Room Hard Dance series and many more.
