Kane Ikin

Kane Ikin is an electronic musician from Melbourne. Equal parts narcotic and kinetic, his music summons vast ‘floor-fringing structures in crystalline definition. Cunningly sculpted, Ikin manages to conceal sonorous vortexes in lush reveries, his delicate restraint never decoding the camouflage. Concussive rhythms punctuate an vast soundstage of thistly, concrete surfaces measured by pillars of bass.

In 2016 Ikin delivered three new long-form works—the tense and atmospheric ‘Modern Pressure’ on Type Recordings, its experimental, club-centric companion ‘Basalt Crush’ on Latency Recordings, and the exploratory shoegaze-techno of ‘Sensory Memory’ on Echovolt Records. This prolific release cycle received extensive acclaim from the like of Boomkat, Bleep, and Honest Jons.
