Ben Kolaitis

Benjamin Kolaitis is a Melbourne based instrument builder, sound artist and sculptor working with programming, interactivity, invention and improvisation. In his work Benjamin departs from notions of the (musical) instrument, processing the idea of the sonic apparatus as a site where the human and the non-human meets.

Kolaitis co-directs Media Lab Melbourne, an artist run community that educates on the role of technology in creative practice. He has presented work at Next Wave, International Symposium of Electronic Art, Experimenta, What is Music? and many other forums and events.
